Zone V Champions return in the NBL fixture

A few days after defending their Zone V title, City Oilers are back on court this time to do business in the National Basketball League.

Oilers who defeated Patriots 74-54 will now have to settle in the league competition without a number of players they used in Zone V including the tournament’s MVP Jordin Mayes. Oilers will take on Ndejje University Angels who they lost to, 74-77 in the first round of the season in a game that saw Ndejje’s Marker Deng score 18 points and Michael Otieno 17.

On the other hand, Oilers’ Stephen Omony scored 18 including 3 pointers on 4 occasions but that wasn’t good enough to help the champions get off Ndejje’s hook, hence losing the game on a 3 points difference.

Oilers come into the Ndejje game sitting 6th on the NBL table with 4 games in hands off leaders Betwayy Power, whom they lost to in their last league game 70-75 in the last moments of the game.

Ndejje University Angels come into this game with confidence, having defeated Oilers in the 1st round, they sit 4th on the roster with 17 games played, 3 more games than Oilers who have played 14 games only. Ndajje University defeated KIU Titans in their last league fixture on 68-65 in a game that had Ndejje’s Innocent Ochera score 21 points and Michael Otieno scoring 10.
