Zebra Mando remembrance service slated for 12th February

The family of the late Isaac Ssenyange alias Zebra Mando has organized a memorial service in honour of the slain boxer.

Family members led by Mercy Mukankunsi (Zebra’s widow) together with Twaib Mayanja (brother to Zebra) decided to organise a two day event in remembrance of the former Bombers captain.

Mayanja revealed that all is set ahead of the event and called upon the Boxing fraternity, friends to come and attend the event in big numbers.

We have decided to organise a two day event in remembrance of a brother, father, coach and friend to many Zebra Mando.” We are to observe the Covid-19 SOPs during the event and i call upon the boxing fraternity, friends to come and attend.” Stated Mayanja.

On Friday, 12th February, there will be a remembrance service in Bwaise in memory of slain boxer Zebra Mando. On the same day, there will be a candlelight ceremony will be held at Zebra Boxing Club in Bwaise.

Then on Saturday, a dua and Funeral prayer services will be held at his home in St Francis Zone in Bwaise, Kampala.

Ssenyange was gunned down at night as he fled from his assailants, who attacked his home in St Francis Zone in Bwaise, a Kampala suburb, on December 30th, last year.
President Museveni later confirmed that Ssenyange was killed by military personnel.

Last week, Police confirmed that they had completed preliminary investigations into the killing of former national boxing team captain, but said they cannot arrest the suspects until President Museveni has sanctioned the operation.
