Budding goalkeeper Wycliffe Mori is among the nine newly signed players at Jinja based club BUL FC.
Mori who put pen to paper on a 2 year contract with BUL FC, was animated by his move to the Uganda Premier League side and dubbed it as a step in a right direction.
” I have joined BUL FC so as to move a step further in my career as a player. For a budding player who harbors desires of turning professional in the near future, this is a right time to move a step further.”
Mori said in an exclusive interview with swiftsportsug.com
” I have been playing in the university football league but it’s a league where a player plays a handful of games in a year, so joining the topflight division guarantees more activity.
Mori is a student at Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mukono and has been featuring in the University football league.
Aware of the stiff competition for the gloves at the Peter Onen coached team, Mori highlighted the relevancy of playing alongside established custodian like Hannington Sebwalunyo and Paul Mujampwani,
” It’s very good to play alongside one of the best goalkeepers in the league, it gives me certainty that I will have a lot to learn from my colleagues. It’s not necessarily about playing time but primarily acclimatizing to the new challenge and basically shaping me up into a more better player.”
Sebwalunyo (Hannington) who had 10 clean sheets last season is touted to be Peter Onen’s first choice glovesman ahead of Mujampwani and Mori.
Mori has in the past turned out for KJL in Kibuli and Friends Soccer Academy of Lugazi. He was playing for Mukono based club Freestars FC in the Buganda Regional league before switching to BUL FC.
Him, Villa Oromchan, Richard Matovu, Vincent Pimundu, Jamaldin Buchochera, Joshua Lubwama “Letti”, Marijan Fadir, Musa Malunda and Farouk Banga are the new recruits at BUL FC.
