Buddo S.S youngster Saddam Masereka scored Uganda’s 3rd when Uganda Hippos demolished South Sudan 5-1 in the U-20 AFCON qualifier at StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.
The excited forward expresses his delight at capping his national debut with a goal. He said,
“I feel proud to have scored my first goal for my country. It’s not easy to score such an important goal and I believe this will motivate me to work hard for more goals.”
On how he felt when he was being unleashed on and what the fans should expect from him.
“I had a feeling that I could change the game when I was being introduced on and the good thing I put up a great display. The fans should now expect me to help the U-20 team reach the next level and also impress at the big stage.”
Masereka is a former student at Lugazi Homeland where he didn’t get enough playing time due to stiff competition with the likes of Farouk Banga ( Bright Stars), Fahad Bayo (Buildcon/Zambia) and UPDF’s Walter Rubankene.
He is currently at Buddo SS where many expect him to be a key figure for his school during this year’s Copa Coca-Cola School’s competition.
