Yanga, Big Bullets open Kagame Cup with one all stalemate

Yanga were reduced to 10 men in the 90th minute after goalkeeper Ramadhan Kabwili was sent off for fouling Hassan Kajoke outside the box.

Guest side Nyasa Big Bullets FC held 10-man Yanga SC to a 1-1 draw as the 2021 CECAFA Kagame Cup officially kicked off at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Yanga, who selected a youth side for this tournament, took an early lead in the 7th minute with an own goal courtesy of defender Miracle Gabeya.

Big Bullets equalized through Chiukepo Msowoya’s penalty in the 29th minute following a foul on Aderpoje Babatunde in the box.

Action will continue on Monday when Ugandan champions Express take on South Sudan’s Atlabara FC in the other Group A game at 4pm.
