Ahead of the Qatar 2022 World cup qualifying draw that will take place in Cairo on January 21st, CAF has released the pots in which teams have been categorised.
4 pots have been made based on the December FIFA rankings.
There will be 10 groups each containing 4 teams. Winners will advance to to a knock out round where they will face off over two legs to determine the 5 nations to represent Africa in Qatar.
Ranked 77th in the December FIFA rankings, Uganda have been pitted in pot 2 alongside Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, S.Africa, Guinea, Cape Verde , Gabon , Zambia, Benin and Congo Brazzaville.
They will have a group that consists of big wigs like Senegal, Tunisia, Nigeria, Algeria, Morocco, Ghana, Egypt, Cameroon , Mali and DR Congo who in pot 1.
