Winners of the FORTEBET Real Stars awards revealed

The winners were rewarded by main sponsors Fortebet and Jude Color Solutions with cash and a winners plaque.


The organizers of the Fortebet Real Stars monthly awards have revealed the winners in five sports categories for the month of May.

James Okello (Basketball), Stella Oyella (Netball), Janet Mbabazi (Cricket), Victor Cherotich (Athletics) and Fazila Ikwaput (Football) were the winners rewarded at 256 Restaurant in Lugogo.

In basketball, Okello beat Brenda Ekone and Tonny Drileba to the May gong.

Okello scored 18 points and 15 rebounds against Our Saviour, 15 points and 10 rebounds against KIU Titans and also bagged another double double of 11 points and 18 rebounds against Ndejje University Angels, all wins for his Oilers side.

Ikwaput who finished as the top scorer in the Women’s Super league and has been in astonishing form this at the ongoing CECAFA Championship in Njeru was named the footballer of the month.

Winners were crowned at 256 Restaurant in Lugogo

She beat Hasifah Nassuna who recently reached a century of goals in the May 2022.

Vipers midfielder Bobosi Byaruhanga was the other nominee for the soccer gong.

Cherotich was crowned the best Athlete of the month after winning two medals, a Bronze in 1500m and Silver in 3000m at ISF World School Games in France.

He edged global icon Joshua Cheptegei and Stella Chesang.

In Cricket, Mbabazi beat her National teammate Kevin Awino and Aziz Damani’s Simon Sessazi to the award.

Mbabazi put up astonishing performances as Victoria Pearls won the Nepal series. She had a combined total of 74 runs and picking two player of the match awards.

NIC shooter Oyella was named as the Netball player of the month. She finished as the tournament’s top scorer, notably scoring 37 goals in the final against KCCA at Kamwokya.

She beat Jessica Achan of Prisons and KCCA’s Shafie Nalwanja.
