Julius Poloto admits that the Kobs did not warrant any place in the next round of the CAF U23 championships after their dismal display in the embarrassing 2-1 defeat to South Sudan.

The Kobs failed to capitalize on their 1-0 advantage gained at Lugogo and fell to a South Sudanese side short on experience.

“We had few chances but still could not put them to use. This made the opponents more stronger at their home ground hence suffering the defeat of 2-0.

“We lost as a team because we realised our mistakes late, we shall go back on the drawing board and come back stronger next time.”

Goals from Peter Michael Taku and Striker Makueth Wol Ngueth ejected the Uganda kobs out of the on- going
AFCON U-23 Qualifiers finals in Egypt next year.

Uganda carried a slim advantage in the first leg at Startimes Stadium Lugogo courtesy of Mustafa Kizza penalty in the 92nd minute.

Wasswa Bbosa named the same uninspiring line up that started in the first leg and also failed miserably in the return fixture.

South Sudan will now take on Tunisia U23 in the final qualification round.
