Express FC fall to a disappointing 1-0 loss to newly promoted Mbarara city in Douglas Bamweyana’s first match in charge.

Newly appointed Douglas Bamweyana insists that his side lost but they were the better side and they were unlucky to lose. Immediately after the game he said,

“It’s unfortunate that we lost to Mbarara City, in my opinion we were the better side though they scored a freakish goal through a free kick that bounced off our custodian. We were unlucky to leave Mbarara without a point, i don’t think they deserved a win, but that’s football they took all the three points.”

Bamweyana also promised to turn things around during his reign at the 6-time league champions,

“The loss to Mbarara City won’t break us down we are a strong team, this is a league and everyone can get shocked like us.
We are going to learn from the result though and i promise things are going to change under my appointment and this will start immediately in our visit to UPDF Fc, fans will witness an improved side, ” he concluded.

Douglas Bamweyana was officially appointed to take helms at the Wankulukuku side on Friday replacing the departed Matia Lule.

He however, has a big role to turn things around at Express Fc who have only gained a point after two games this season and are yet to score in 180 minutes of competitive football.
