Ahead of their Uganda cup semi finals with Bright stars, Express FC tactician George Ssimwogere has lifted the lid on his opponents and claimed that they are too average to challenge his team.
Express FC will visit Bright stars in the first leg of the Stanbic Uganda cup semi finals at the Champions stadium in Mwererwe.
During a press briefing at Kati Kati, Ssimwogerere said that his side has all it takes to win the competition since all the remaining opponents are average.
“We are delighted to be in the semifinals of the Uganda Cup and we are very prepared to face Bright Stars. Thethe good thing is that the first leg is away from home”.
“I believe we have all it takes to win this competition basing on the opponents remaining in the competition.”
“They are all average and can’t give me sleepless nights like if we were facing the likes of Vipers or KCCA FC.”
Ssimwogerere also attacked Bright Stars’ poor pitch which he thinks may hinder the performance of his team.
“Truth be told, there are pitches in Uganda that should never be allowed to host competitive games. It’s a pity that in our country we can allow a potato ground like that of Bright Stars for a big match like the semifinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.”
“Even the Express Stadium is not good enough and that’s why we as coaches we always think about various tactics to see that we get results from such poor pitches. I believe the fans could have enjoyed the semifinal games if we were to play at Namboole, Lugogo or St.Mary’s Stadium.”
Express FC will be looking to lift the trophy for the 11th time while Bright Stars are in search of their first ever Uganda Cup triumph. The finals will be held at Masaka Recreational grounds on May 25th, 2019.
