Masavu coach Alex Gitta has warned SC Villa that his relegation fighting team can become the first team to beat SC Villa at their fortress of Masaka recreation ground.

SC Villa are fresh from breaking Onduparaka’s home unbeaten record courtesy of a Geoffrey Lwesibawa free kick that saw them win 1-0.

Over the weekend, Masavu drew their 5th consecutive match and they are unbeaten since the resumption of the league for the round 2.

Gitta asserts that despite the huge difference in points and table standings, the team that beat him 3-0 at Bugonga can succumb to their first home defeat at the hands of lowly Masavu.

” Everything is possible in football, we have an impressive away record and if we take the right frame of mindset, we can definitely shock them”.

“We badly need points and we have to get them from the remaining games that we are left with and among them is SC Villa” .

Gitta expressed his delight at his team for the fighting spirit exhibited as they earned anotjer point against Bright stars.

SC Villa will have to be careful of dangerman Abraham Ndugwa

He added,

” I am glad that the boys are all pulling in the same direction, we have built a never say die attitude. We are going to fight till the final game. This struggle will go down up to the final day, claims that we are one man team are baseless, James Kasibante has scored 2 of the last 3 goals we have managed “.

” We won a point whereas our closest rivals lost, UPDF lost to Kirinya JSS, Mbarara City lost to Maroons, Proline lost to BUL FC and Express lost to Police. So it’s a big positive for us and I can assure you that Masavu will play in the league next season.”

Gitta’s words can not be played down judging by their statistics this season. They have won 2 games, drawn 4 and scored 7 goals on the road which is better than their home performance of 2 wins, 3 draws and 6 losses. Masavu have scored only 5 and conceded 15 at home.

James Kasibante has scored 2 in their last 5 games

On the contrary, SC Villa have won 9 out the 10 games played at home this season, they have scored 14 and only conceded 2 goals.

Masavu are unbeaten in the last 5 league games but only managing 5 points out the possible 15. SC Villa have won 2, drawn 2 and lost once in the last 5 encounters.
