“It was a difficult game for us since our opponents had more of the possession and they scored first but we fought hard for the win. I believe we were driven by the desire and motivation to win the game and we had faith in ourselves.”

The centre half who rose highest to head in the emphatic winner believes that victory over Ethiopia will inspire them to glory in the next games. She says,

“I believe this result will be key for us heading in the next fixtures because it’s not easy to come from a goal down. We have a lot of hope that we can go on and win the title this year.”

Uganda will be looking to overcome the demons of mediocrity and end as the undisputed champions in this year’s edition.

They next face the Kilimanjaro Queens of Tanzania on Monday 23rd July at 3:00pm and Farida Bulega’s beleaguered troops will be looking to rise again the Ugandan flag to the heavens.
