Kirinya Jinja SS FC head coach Charles Ayiekoh Lukula has set his club’s target for this season after edging title contenders URA FC 1-0 courtesy of a second half strike from Isaac Ntege in a league fixture yesterday at Bugembe stadium.
Kirinya Jinja SS now men lie 4th on the league table with 4 points after 2 games only. Charles Ayiekoh was impressed by his team’s performance in the first two games and hinted on his season target to finish in the top 5 positions.
“My players are so determined that’s why they give 100%. Had it not been for the Express game where we were unfortunate not to win, We would be top of the table by now. The win against URA intensifies my personal target of finishing in the top five despite my bosses tasking me to finish in the top 7. I want the top 5 because when you don’t set a personal target, you can’t succeed.”
“I think I have a big squad with players who have got what it takes to get results and its evident depending on our first 2 fixtures. The squad is full of youthful players who toil from the word go. However, the only area lacking in my team is upfront where we have a problem in goal scoring but am working on it. We would have won the game in the first half but we failed to convert our chances.”
He concluded with remarks on the void left by Bashir Mutanda who is nursing a knee injury.
“Its clear that we miss Mutanda who is out because of injury. We miss his services in the attacking department.”
Kirinya Jinja SS will play against neighbors BUL FC in the next fixture on Saturday 23rd September at Bugembe stadium.
