Uganda will travel to Egypt tomorrow (Sunday) early morning for the group E top of the table clash against Egypt in Alexandria.
Moses Basena took his players through their final paces this morning at Mandela National Stadium and he insists that his players are already battle hardened for the Tuesday clash against the Pharaohs who Uganda beat 1-0 on Thursday. He said,
“We know the calibre of opponent we are going to play against, we know it’s not going to be any easy, they are going to throw everything at us but we are are ready to stomach the pressure, we have had enough preparation, we have no injury concerns and every player is positive and ready for battle.”
Basena was asked to comment on the impact of Ghana’s result on his preparation or Uganda’s chances of qualification. Basena was quick to highlight that the Cranes should only concentrate on their matches and leave the rest to God. Basena said,
“We are not basing our chances on any team or our opponents in the group at the moment , we only need to concentrate on seeing out our games one at ago and leave the rest to God, we believe when we are in the driving seat and nothing should put us under pressure “.
Uganda currently lies at the summit of group E with 7 points, Egypt 6, Ghana 2 and Congo Brazaville 1.
