We are raring to go – Hippos captain Gavin Kizito

The Hippos (U-20) captain Gavin Kizito Mugweri is upbeat that his team are up to the task and ready to win their first game in the CECAFA U-20 championship in Tanzania.

“We reached safely in Tanzania and we are expecting positive results from our first game”

“All players are fully fit and set for the game and we had enough preparations back home in Uganda”

Mugweri has the confidence that they win the championship,

“We are in the tournament not just to participate but compete and see that we can win the championship and proceed to the next level.”

The Hippos are placed in group B alongside Burundi and South-Sudan. They will kick off their AFCON U-20 Zonal Qualifiers Tanzania 2020 against South Sudan on Monday 23rd-November at 4:00pm

Hosts Tanzania will face off in the opener with Djibouti on Sunday 22nd-November.

The overall winner of the tournament will represent the CECAFA region in the AFCON U-20 Championship in Mauritania.
