Wazito FC signs Ugandan offensive midfielder

Kenya Premier League newbies Wazito Football Club have completed the signing of Ugandan midfielder Mansoor Safi Agu on an undisclosed long term contract.

Mansoor Safi has been playing for Buddu in the Masaza Cup tournament but previously turned out for Ssingo.

The budding offensive midfielder is a former Kibuli SS and Dynamic SS student who has previously played for Kyebando FC.

Mansoor Safi has been training with the Nairobi based outfit for the past weeks and subsequently impressed hence sealing a deal with the KPL free spending newbies.

“Mansoor is a fantastic player. At his age, he has unique abilities and focus that will take him far.” Wazito Sporting Director Solomon Alubala told the club website.

“We are happy that he chose us to formally launch his professional career after High School. Wazito’s motto is nurturing talents and that is exactly what we intend to do with him and every player who has joined us.” Alubala added.

Mansoor Safi’s signing also closes the Wazito’s foreign quota of five players.

On Tuesday, Wazito signed former Vipers’ right back Karim Nizigiyimana alongside Abouba Sibomana.

Among other new faces at the club is Pistone Mutamba who returned from Sofapaka, Bernard Ochieng, Elvis Rupia among others.

The newly promoted side will open up their KPL campaign on August 31st against Nzoia Sugar at Kenyatta stadium, Machakos.
