It was substitute Brian Nkuubi’s second half free kick goal that saw Vipers cruise past a wasteful Villa setting up a Stanbic Uganda cup final with KCCA FC.
Wasswa Bbosa the Villa tactician blamed the match referee Emma Kiweewa but also admitted they failed to take the chances they had on the day. He says,
“The referee created the free kick and scored it, what I know it’s not Vipers who scored us but the referee.”
We created a lot of chances but we failed to utilise them and the referee got his chance to make the controversy.”
Bbosa also confirmed during the post match conference that his employment contract with the record league champions had expired.
“The time I signed with the club has come to an end and as of now I am not the club coach following expiration of my employment contract.”
Following the defeat this means that Villa have spent a second season in a row without a trophy. Vipers on the other hand will be seeking for their first cup double in the club’s history.
The final is slated for Saturday 9th at Emokori grounds in Bukedea district.
