Wakiso’s quest for a win over URA continues following stalemate

URA FC have drawn their 6th game of the season out of their 11 league matches after fighting from behind to hold Wakiso Giants.

In form striker Rwothomio Cromwell headed in a poacher’s goal thanks to a perfectly weighed corner kick delivery in the 70th minute.

It was also the striker’s 7th goal of the season.

The evening was one of beautiful goals after Simon Namwanja had put the visitors in the lead with a sumptuous strike at the stroke of halftime.

Wakiso Giants should have been infront earlier on in the 21st minute but Tom Masiko’s headed effort hit the woodwork .

There was late drama when URA thought they had won it late through Cromwell but the assistant was spot on when she kept her flag up following an offside infringement from the ball crosser Ashraf Mandela.

The point earned on the road helps Wakiso Giants mantain 6th place on 21 points whereas URA remain 11th with 18 points after 11 games.

The two sides will return to action on 4th January as URA visit Gaddafi in Jinja and Wakiso will BUL .
