Wakiso Women Football Club have officially named Sports journalist David Didi Tumusiime as their new media officer.
The development was confirmed on Thursday 10th September at Mengo, when the club unveiled Tumusiime to the media.
Tumusiime is a TV personality who hosts sports shows on Makerere based television, Gugudde TV.
Speaking to the media, Shaka Wilber the club chairman of Wakiso Hill FC revealed why the club hierarchy chose Tumusiime for the vacant position.
” Today we have officially appointed David Didi Tumusiime as our new club media officer. We chose him because he is an ardent follower of women football in the country. He loves the game and we hope he will promote our brand as we embark on turning our club into a professional entity.”
Shaka Wilber said.
It should be noted that Wakiso Hill FC are one of the pioneers of club football in Uganda but have found results on the pitch hard to come their way.
Tumusiime, alias “Didi e Uganda” expressed his readiness for the assigned task and vow to execute to the expectations.
” I am ready to perform my duties as the media officer of Wakiso Hill Football Club. I thank the club administration for trusting me. I know it’s an enormous task but I believe it will be easier with team work.”
Tumusiime said shortly after his unveiling.
Wakiso Hill FC compete in the second tier of women football league (FUFA Women Women League) and have set a target of earning promotion to the FUFA Women Super League which is the top tier. They host their games in Maya, in Wakiso district.
Former Kakiri Town Council coach Swaleh Kamya is the club head coach assisted by Matthew Lumu while Kasim Kiwanuka Hassan serves as the Chief Executive Officer – CEO.
