Police FC humbled Wakiso Giants 2-1 at Wakissha Stadium on Saturday to move a place above the relegation zone.

Goals from Ben Ocen and substitute Samson Kigozi inspired the Cops to maximum points. Veteran Striker Geoffrey Sserunkuma scored the Purple Sharks only goal of the contest.

The result saw Abdallah Mubiru’s side complete a double over Wakiso Giants this campaign. Police FC won the first game when the two side faced off at StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo with a similar score.

This was Livingstone Mbabazi’s first game in charge of the Wakiso based side since taking over from Kefa Kisala in November last year.

Ocen fired the visitors into an early lead in the second minute with a brilliant finish.

In the 10th minute, Police FC defence failed to deal with a Fahad Kawooya long free kick enabling Sserunkuma to level matters for the home side.

From that moment, Wakiso dominated proceedings but couldn’t capitalize on it for more goals. The first half ended in a 1-1 stalemate.

In the second half, Kigozi who was introduced on for Fahad Kigozi made it 2-1 when he headed home a Ruben Kimera quality cross.

At full time whistle, the Cops smiled to a 2-1 away win to move to 13th place with 15 points.

Wakiso who suffered their 8th loss of the campaign dropped to 8th place on the log with 20 points.
