Wakiso Giants return to winning ways with emphatic victory over Bright Stars

Wakiso Giants returned to winning ways with a 4-2 win over Soltilo Bright Stars on Tuesday at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.

Goals from defender Edward Satulo who was making a return from suspension, Ivan Bogere, Pius Kaggwa and an own goal from Derrick Ngoobi earned the Purple Sharks their first league victory over Bright Stars in five meetings.

James Angu scored the visitors two goals as they remain winless on the road this term. They have now lost three and drawn once away from home this season.

Angu gave the Bright Stars an early lead in the second minute of the contest.

Satulo restored parity in heading home a perfect Simon Namwanja free kick.

The hosts took the lead in the 28th minute through Bogere after being fed by left back Namwanja.

With just ten minutes to halftime breather, Angu levelled matters for the visitors.

After the recess, Ngoobi netted into his own net as he tried to clear Sharif Kimbowa’s effort in the 51st minute.

Substitute Kaggwa put the seal on the Purple Sharks victory who have now won five in six games under the stewardship of Alex Gitta.

The win sees Wakiso move up to second place with 15 points in eight games while Bright Stars remain on five points in seven games.

The Purple Sharks will next travel to Onduparaka on Tuesday, 7th December while Bright Stars welcome UPDF FC on Sunday.
