VOLLEYBALL : Nkumba open dedicated to kid with heart complications

The 23rd edition of the Nkumba Open Volleyball Tournament will take place from Friday 6th to 8th September at Nkumba University Sports Complex.

According to Godwin Ssenyondo says that they are well prepared for the even that will attract over 40 teams

“We are ready for the 23rd edition of the Nkumba Open Volleyball tournament.This time, we are to have the corporate category and we shall also have five teams from South Sudan.”

We are looking forward for a very competitive event this year.”

Defending champions (winners of the 22nd edition 2018)

Primary Schools
Boys (St.James Primary School)
Girls ( Sunrise Primary School)

Secondary Schools
Boys (Boston High School)
Girls (Katikamu SDA)

Institution (Nkumba University won both the Women and Men events)

Clubs
Men (Uganda Christian University Doves)

Women (Nkumba University)

Universities and Clubs will have to pay a registration fee of UGX Shs 100,000 per team and Corporates UGX Shs 200,000.

This year’s edition has been dedicated to Tukashaba Benadicto a Primary four student at St.Agnes Center for education, Mbarara who is diagnosed with a hole in his heart.He needs to raise over 18million to have a surgery at Mulago Hospital on 21st October.

Nkumba University has also lined up the Volleyball Festival that will be held on 28th and 29th September at MTN Arena, Lugogo. The event is part of the University’s 25 year celebrations.
