Vipers vs Express clash postponed as UPL secretariat adjusts fixture

League encounters of Vipers vs Express at Kitende and Proline vs SC Villa at Lugogo previously slated for Friday 30th and Saturday 31st March have been postponed to dates to be communicated later.

Uganda Premier league secretariat has announced adjustments in the league fixtures to allow the Hippos (U20 National team) host South Sudan in the U-20 AFCON Qualifiers on Saturday 31st March at StarTimes Stadium Lugogo.

In a statement released today Monday 26th March, the Uganda Premier league secretariat gives account of the adjustments in the fixtures.

The statement reads;

“FUFA has confirmed Saturday 31st March 2018 as the date U20 national team (men) will be playing against South Sudan at StarTimes Stadium-Lugogo. 25 players were summoned some of whom from AUPL clubs. KCCA FC, Vipers FC and Proline FC have more than 2 players on the squad.

Pursuant to article19 (17) of FUFA competitions rules, “If a club has more than two (2) players on the national team, the fixture involving such a club may be called off three (3) days before and three (3) days after the national team engagement if it is to be played in Uganda.”

The matches previously scheduled for Saturday 31st March have been moved to Friday 30th while the match between Kirinya Jinja SS and KCCA slated for 30th will be played despite KCCA having more than 2 players in the U-20 squad.

“KCCA FC is willing to play their game minus their players on the squad.”

Mbarara City vs URA FC – Kakyeka Stadium 4:30pm

Soana FC vs BUL FC – Kavumba Recreation Centre 4:30pm

UPDF FC vs Maroons FC Bombo – Barracks Ground 4:30pm

Police FC vs Bright Stars FC – Namboole 4:30pm

Onduparaka FC vs Masavu FC – Arua 4:30pm
