Uganda Premier League Champions Vipers SC have signed South Sudanese right wing back Joseph Dhata on a four year employment contract.

Dhata who has been training with Kitende outfit since last season put pen to paper on a four year deal after receiving his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) from South Sudan Football Association (SSFA).

“I am very happy about this day as it has offered me a new step forward,” said the ever-smiling youngster.

“The important thing is to grab this chance and use it wisely to build my career and also help my team to win games and silverware.”

“I am home. All my friends are here. So everything is well. However, I know what is expected of me. The competition for numbers at Vipers is what motivates me more,” Dhata told the club website.

The South Sudan international, was the skipper for Buddo Secondary School in 2019 and also featured for Bulo SS in the Copa Coca-Cola Schools championship 2018.

The move will see him reunite with his friends Ahmed Amayo and Rashid Toha at the four time Uganda Premier League champions.

Dhata will compete with Paul Willa for a starting place at right back position next season. He joins other new recruits David Bagoole, Ibrahim Orit, Disan Galiwango and Jamil Kaliisa.
