Vipers keep double bid alive after beating Mbarara City in the semifinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup on Tuesday at the St.Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

The Venoms powered past the Ankole Lions 4-0 in the second leg of the semifinal at Kitende.

Second half goals from skipper Halid Lwaliwa, Milton Karisa, Yunus Sentamu and Bobosi Byaruhanga saw the Uganda Premier league champions keep their double dream alive.

The Kitende based side progressed to the consecutive final with a 6-1 aggregate win over Mbarara City and will face the winner between BUL FC and Booma FC in the final scheduled for June 11th/12th.

Vipers dominance of the second period was total and Robertinho Oliviera felt it was one of the best halves his team had played.

Sentamu was excellent through the middle and so was Karisa on the ring wing and it was a strange day for the Ankole Lions.

The Venoms are searching for an historic cup double this season.

Meanwhile, BUL FC who carry a 5-1 first leg advantage will host Booma FC on Wednesday in second leg.
