Vipers SC seek to become only the fourth team in Ugandan football history to win a double in a season. The Uganda premier league champions will take on defending champions KCCA FC at Emokori grounds in Bukedea

The other teams to have reached the feat are SC Villa in 1986, 1988, 1989,1998, 2000 and 2002. Express in 1995 and KCCA FC in the 2016/17 season.

Vipers SC have won the championship only once having given it a shot on 3 occasions. In 2012 they lost to URA, whereas Victoria University beat then 4-2 on penalties in 2013.

KCCA are 9 time winners and they will be seeking to equal Express FC the record winners who are on 10 times. They have reached the finals for a record 17 times.

Taddeo Lwanga returns for Vipers SC after sitting out the return leg of the semifinals against SC Villa. Shaban Muhammad did not travel with the KCCA squad after being ruled out by injury.
