Vipers host tricky UPDF in attempt to topple KCCA

Danito NSUBUGA

Any more slip ups for leaders will see Vipers assume the table summit should they beat a very much improved UPDF side at St. Mary’s stadium Kitende.

Morley Byekwaso’s men are currently infront with a two point cushion but they have played a game more than Vipers. KCCA have not won in the previous two matches and they will play Onduparaka in Arua tomorrow too.

Vipers’ visitors are a different entity from the one they have enjoyed beating in recent meetings.

Youthful coach Brian Senyondo has transformed them into a formidable side that is not easy to beat.

In their previous league match, they fought back to draw with another in form side BUL FC at Bombo.

Young striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe is a man to watch for UPDF having scored 6 goals already in his maiden season of Uganda’s topflight. He only joined from Nyamityobora at the beginning of this term.

Vipers have not been so inspiring following slim back to back victories over struggling sides.

They struggled to beat minnows Tooro United at Kitende, a side that has conceded the most this season.

In their previous match, they laboured to beat a 10 man Soltilo Bright Stars side at Kavumba.

The good news however for them is that hitman Yunus Sentamu rediscovered his scoring boots.

There has not been any serious absentees for either side.
