Vipers got better of Express with a 2-1 win at wankulukuku in a tense match that had a contested and an end to end second half.

Milton Karisa punished the hosts for being wasteful when he got Vipers in an early lead by freely heading home a Moses Waiswa corner in the 21st minute.

Erisa Sekisambu doubled the lead flawlessly converting a penalty capitalising on a Sulaiman Jjingo foul on a fast approaching Brian Nkuubi in the box in the 39th minute.

Vipers tactician quickly withdrew defender Shafik Bakaki for Tom Masiko hence shifting to the routine 4-4-2 from the initial 3-5-2 system with 2 minutes to the halftime break.

On coming back, Express brought on Steven Bengo for Jose Maria Lubega to surge the attacking force.

Both sides subsequently put up numerous goal scoring attempts but most notable was from Geoffrey Wasswa. The Vipers young center back blasted a free kick from his own half which was mishandled by Godwin Buule past the goal line by inches but wasn’t considered by the referee Aisha Semambo and her second assistant.

In the 69th minute, Dan Muzeyi Serunkuuma pulled one back for the Red Eagles finishing off a brilliant pass from Steven Bengo.

Serunkuuma’s 6th goal of the season sparked of relentless from Express in search for the leveller but the venoms weren’t willing to give in either.

The best chance for the equaliser fell to Steven Luswata whose goal bound rebounding effort was curbed by Ismael Watenga after propelling through a forest of defenders in the 89th minute.
