Vipers aim at reclaiming table summit as they host Soltilo Bright Stars

Vipers SC hope to reclaim the table top as they host Soltilo Bright Stars, a side they have never lost to since their promotion to the topflight.

Vipers are second on the table with 24 points, one behind Express who have played a game more. Victory will automatically ensure the Venoms return to the summit.

Soltilo Bright Stars are 9th with 14, points and will be aiming for their fourth win of the campaign.

Soltilo Bright Stars have lost six of their 13 meetings with Vipers since 2013. The other seven games have ended in draws.

Vipers are fresh from claiming their first ever victory in Arua in remarkable style after beating Onduparaka 3-1 thanks to Ibrahim Orit, Ceaser Manzoki and Paul Mucurezi.

Soltilo Bright Stars drew 2-2 with Police FC in their most recent game.

Fred Kajoba will receive a boast of Halid Lwaliwa and Siraje Ssentamu who return from injury after missing the trip to Onduparaka while Abraham Ndugwa and Milton Karisa are still out of action.

Orit, Mucurezi together with striker Yunus Sentamu will be expected to be key in inflicting damage to the visiting side.

Soltilo Bright Stars head coach Baker Mboowa will continue life without Sam Ssekitto, Ronald Ssempala, Simon Semayange, Andrew Kyambadde and Alfred Onek.

Mboowa will however rely on his offensive quartet of Ssekamatte, Nvule Jamil Kisitu, Joseph Akandwanaho and former Vipers forward Joseph Janjali.

Police FC will host Mbarara City at Lugogo in the other game being played on Wednesday.
