Villa table new deal for assistant coach

Following expiry of the current contract, the club has now kick started negotiations with Kirya over a renewal

SC Villa are set to renewal assistant coach Ibrahim Kirya’s contract, swift Sports understands.

Sources reveal that Kirya who has been serving as Edward Kaziba’s assistant is currently out of contract at the 16 time Uganda Premier League champions.

Following expiry of the current contract, the club has now kick started negotiations with Kirya over a renewal.

Relegated side Kyetume FC are also believed to be interested in the former URA FC head coach’s services.

Kirya has previously served at URA FC, SC Villa, Lweza FC and Wakiso Giants in the capacity of head coach.

At Wakiso Giants, Kirya who joined the club at the start of the 2018/19 guided the Wakiso outfit to the Uganda Premier League in the same season.

He has also served as head coach at Gomba Lions Ssaza team and won the 2020 edition with the side after beating Buddu 3-1 in the final at the St.Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
