Villa end five match winless streak with slender victory over Busoga United

Salim Abdallah first goal from the spot earned SC Villa maximum points against Busoga at the Njeru Technical centre on Wednesday.

This was Villa’s first win since the 2-1 victory over Onduparaka FC in November. In that period Villa had lost twice to Mbarara City and Gaddafi.

They had also drawn thrice against URA FC, Arua Hill and KCCA FC.

Busoga suffered their eighth defeat of the season.

Salim gave the visitors the lead in the 17th minute when he camly struck from the penalty mark after Nicholas Kabonge had been brought down in the forbidden area.

Petros Koukouras’ charges held on to three important points and move to 11th place on the Uganda Premier League log with 13 points in 11 games.

Busoga are now in the drop zone with just 7 points garnered in 11 games.

The Jogoos will next host struggling Tooro United on 27th December while Busoga travel to Express on the following day.
