SC Villa players say the chief Executive officer Shawn Mubiru has betrayed them during his tenure.

One of the players at the 16 time Uganda Premier League champions told this website that they are disgusted in Mubiru’s actions at the club.

“We are disgusted, embarrassed and angry at the club chief Executive officer.” He is not a football person and is the reason why some players are leaving the club.”

“Many players would like to stay at the club but due to Mubiru’s actions, they have opted to look for new clubs.”

Stated a player.

Shawn Mubiru was appointed as the club’s Chief Executive Officer in 2019 and vowed to return the club to the top.

He replaced David Sserebe who was serving as the interim CEO.

Last season, Villa finished 10th on the Uganda Premier League log and also reached the quarterfinals of the Uganda Cup.

The club has so far signed 2020 Masaza Cup winning players Gift Fred, Ali Bayo and Charles Bbaale.

They however, lost one of their best players for the last three seasons Derrick Ndahiro who joined URA FC.

On 28th August the most successful club in the country will conduct elections for new leadership.
