URA maintain grip on top with 3-1 victory over Police

URA FC maintained their table leadership with a commanding 3-1 win over Abdallah Mubiru’s Police at the Arena of Visions in Ndejje.

Steven Dese Mukwala, Joachim Ojera and Cromwell Rwothomio scored for Sam Ssimbwa’s men while Fahad Kizito pulled one back for Police.

Mukwala opened the scores in the 34th minute with a volley from a tight angle to mark his 12th goal of the season.

The 2019/20 top scorer turned provider when he set up Ojera who made it 2-0 two minutes into the second half.

Cromwell exquistely put the game beyond question with the third goal following an Ashraf Mandela cross at the hour mark.

Fahad Kizito who had replaced Duncan Seninde at the start of the second half, scored a consolation for the Cops two minutes to normal time.

With six games to the league climax, URA have now garnered 54 points, one more than second placed Vipers who beat SC Villa 3-1 in Bombo. Express have 52 points after overcoming UPDF 1-0 at Wankulukuku.

The tax collectors will shift focus to their next game against Kyetume in Nakisunga on Wednesday 19th. Police will host SC Villa on the same day.

Abdallah Mubiru’s men are now sixth with 38 points accumulated from 24 outings.
