Following the release of the tentative fixtures of the Azam premier league season of 2017/18, URA FC have announced that they have decided to shift from the Mehta stadium in Lugazi where they have been hosting their home games since 2011.

A statement from the club read,

“URA FC’s plans to play home matches at Mandela National Stadium have been finalized after the stadium management granted authority to the club to use their facilities for the home matches.”

The club highlights that the move has been instigated by the Uganda football licensing board over their concerns about the status of the pitch at Lugazi. They added,

“This move came after concerns by the Uganda Football Licensing Board over about the status the pitch that URA FC has been using. URA FC is a compliant institution to both domestic and international policies and regulations governing the management of football as a sporting activity.”

“URA FC management therefore wishes to encourage the fans in Kampala, Wakiso, Mukono and neighboring areas to come in large numbers to support our club at all matches.”

URA’s first match at Namboole Stadium will be against UPDF at Namboole on Wednesday 13th -Sept- 2017 at 04pm.
