URA FC have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper James Alitho on a two year contract.

Alitho has officially returned to URA, a side he left in January 2019 to join Zambian club Zanaco FC where he has been since then.

The lanky shot stopper expressed his excitement of returning to the Tax Collectors.

“I’ve grown to love the proverb that “East or west, home is best”, home is indeed best because I feel there is no other place I would rather be. It is a pleasure for me to return to this special club that I happen to love so much.” He said via the club’s website.

He brings experience and confidence to the URA team having played for the Uganda Cranes as well as Vipers in the recent past.

Alitho will now compete with Nafian Alionzi for the club’s first choice slot while being deputized by youngster Samuel Mwaka.

The other fourth goalkeeper Hannington Ssebwalunyo was loaned out to BUL FC for one year.

The Tax Collectors have so far unveiled Derrick Ndahiro, Simon Baligeya, Kabon Living as well as Said Kyeyune who has also returned to the club from Sudan’s El Merreikh.

URA will face Ethiopian Coffee in the Preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup early next month.
