URA condemn Onduparaka to 5th straight loss to strengthen grip on the log


Onduparaka FC have fallen to a 5th successive loss to edge closer to the drop zone. They now move to within 4 points behind 14th placed Kyetume

A brace by Captain Shafiq Kagimu and returning striker Steven Mukwala won all the three points for URA. Mukwala recorded his 11th goal of the season.

The hosts made their intentions very clear as soon as the referee kicked off the match with relentless attacks on the Onduparaka goal.

Within the first 5 minutes, they had registered 3 corners .

By minute nine, Joachim Ojera had shaken the net but his effort was called off for offside.

Kagimu broke his personal record of 8 goals scored in the 2017/2018 season

In form Captain Shafiq Kagimu opened the scoring with his 8th goal of the season. Equaling his best tally that he managed in the 2017/18 season.

Steven Mukwala extended URA’s lead in the 40th minute with a clinical volley. It was his 11th goal of the season, he is now one behind top scorer Yunus Sentamu.

The tax collectors went into the compulsory break with a 2 goal cushion.

The visitors cut the deficit by one goal when Mahad Ajobe pulled one back on 54 minutes.

Before the dust calmed down, Kagimu made sure Onduparaka were dead and buried at the 61st minute with his 9th goal of the season, breaking his best ever record .

The three points take URA to the 50 points mark and 4 points adrift of defending champions Vipers SC.

Onduparaka will hope to put an end to their bad patch on 11th May when they host SC Villa in Arua.

The tax collectors will visit Vipers SC in what promises to be a title decider on 12th May .
