URA FC have appointed journey man Sam Ssimbwa Bamweyana in the capacity of caretaker manager up to the end of the season.
He has beaten Mathias Lule and Jackson Mayanja as the other front-runners that were tipped for the job.
Ssimbwa becomes the 3rd coach to sit in the URA dugout this season replacing Paul Nkata who resigned on the 24th of April following his team’s humiliation by KCCA FC. Nkata replaced Ibrahim Kirya who was sacked in December last year.
Confirming the appointment, a statement from the club read,
“The URA board sitting today 26th April 2018, has appointed Sam Ssimbwa Bamweyana to guide the team up to the end of the season. We warmly welcome him and believe he has all the expertise necessary to lead the team of champions”.
Ssimbwa resigned from his job as Sofapaka head coach on 8th April 2018. He has previously coached at SC Villa, Express FC, KCCA FC, SC Victoria University, Top TV, Mbale Heroes, Health FC, Masaka LC, Soana FC and Atraco in Rwanda.
His first match in charge will be a trip to Arua against Onduparaka FC in May 2nd 2018.
