UPL: Sserunkuuma on the double as Vipers down Express

Daniel Sserunkuuma’s brace was enough to see the Kitende based side close the gap on table summit.

Vipers are currently in the second position on the log with leaders KCCA only better by goal difference.

Sserunkuuma opened the score in the third minute with a tap-in off a superb cross from youngster Aziz Kayondo.

Later, Tito Okello also had a clear cut opportunity to double the lead for the home side but was denied by Mathias Muwanga in goal for the visitors.

Sserunkuuma was on with another glorious chance with a few seconds left to halftime but his effort went inches over the cross bar.

Enter second half, Sserunkuuma doubled the lead for the hosts in the 49th minute to extend his tally to 11 goals so far this season.

Brian Umony, Tony Odur, Michael Birungi and Mubaraka Nsubuga all had a couple of chances to score for the Wankulukuku side but all in vain.

Vipers who played their 22nd game of the season have so far garnered 45 points and are tied with leaders KCCA who still have a game in hand while Express FC remain 7th with 28 points.

Vipers FC will visit Ndejje University while Express FC will host Mbarara City at Wankulukuku on Tuesday, 5th, March, 2019.
