KCCA will visit Mbarara city at Kakyeka Stadium in second round opener of 2017/2018 season.

Having survived in the 11th position with only 32 points last season, the Ankole Lions are proving a formidable side this time round.

They have gathered 28 points from 15 games played so far and are occupying the 3rd position on the log of 16 teams.

The last 5 league games have seen Mbarara city win thrice and drawn twice.

KCCA have won 4 out of their last 5 games and only lost once.

These two teams have so far met thrice in the league but the best result they could manage was a one all draw in April last year and the other games ended goalless.

The Kasasiro boys will be without head coach Mike Mutebi who is serving a 4 match FUFA-ban.

The Ankole Lions will also be without experienced defender and former captain Asuman Alishe who opted not to renew his contract with the Mbarara side after it’s expiry.

Paul Mucureezi will be facing head to head with his former pay masters and KCCA skipper Timothy Awany must be very vigilant about the possible dangers from the pacy forward.

A win for Mbarara city will see them tie with second placed Sc Vipers on 31 points while one for KCCA will help them remain unshakable on the table summit with 40 points.
