Uganda Martyrs will begin their 2020 Pepsi University Football league campaign away to Busitema University in the first game of group C on Friday.

Uganda Martyrs team manager Tony Ssali asserts that his side is focused ahead of the contest.

“Last year we missed out on advancing to the finals as well as winning bronze.” This season we want to make it to the finals and to win the trophy but first we need to remain focused and make sure we get out of the group stages.” He stated.

His counterpart Stanley Muganga is confident that his troops will overcome UMU challenge

“We have added some players to boast our squad this year. We were quarterfinalists last year and this season we expect to put up great performances in the competition.”

Uganda Martyrs will be without four players from the team that made it to the semifinals of the competition last year, these are Mutaawe Atanaas and Mbigo Livingstone who graduated while Ssempala Ronald joined Bright Stars and Lukwago Nasser has played the maximum of 4 seasons.

This is the first meeting between the two side in the competition.
