Unbeaten Sharp FC from Kabale joins the FUFA Big League

Soccer fans in Ntungamo on Wednesday 24/05/2017 evening were treated to a full entertainment of total football as the western’s two best teams were fighting for a big league slot

Rushere FC from Kiruhura came into the finals after edging Rukungiri united while sharp FC from Kabale beat Mbarara Fc in the semi finals all games were played on Sunday 21/04/2017

Sharp FC has not lost a single game on the road to lift the trophy with the worst result being a 2 all draw versus Rukungiri United. Sharp FC won all the other Kigezi group games prior to qualifying for playoffs as group leaders

The game started at 2:00 PM and before 50th minute no one could predict the would be winner as all the teams were pressing each other with relentless hunger. Fiat Cleofas put sharp FC in the lead after 50 minutes before Rushere captain Luyombya Isma brought the game back to normal with a penalty in 65th minute and the game remained in the hands of the goal keepers as they were the busiest on the day.

Fans and tacticians had began preparing themselves for extra time and penalties but Turinawe Johnson Bafana had other ideas as he put in a thumping header from an 86th minute corner to give Sharp FC a well deserved lead. Man of the match Sulaiman Kibalama goal keeper of Sharp FC produced another brilliant save in the dying minutes to hand Sharp their deserved 2-1 Victory.
Sharp FC joins Nyamityobora FC to represent the western region in the Fufa big league next season.

The guest of honour Mr Jakob Kafureka commonly known as Jak Jex congratulated all the finalists for playing entertaining and good foot ball and advised players to have discipline if they are to make it in life and be patient because teams like arsenal are looking for players. This gave the already jubilating fans a heavy dose of laughter before the Mayor handed the trophy over to team captain Turinawe Johnson Bafana of Sharp FC.
