Ugandan referee Ronald Madanda will be the center referee in the CECAFA U-23 Challenfe Cup opener between hosts Ethiopia and neighbors Eritrea in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia.
The CECAFA U23 Challenge Cup starts on Saturday July 17th with all games to be played in the city of Bahir Dar.
Madanda will be in the man in the center and will be assisted by fellow Ugandan Ronald Katenya and Tanzanian Kassim Mpanga as his first and second assistants respectively.
Ramadhan Kayoko, a Tanzanian will be the fourth official while Abo Ali Mohammed from Djibouti will be assessor.
For starters nine teams are taking part in the tournament. Group A has record champions Uganda, guests Democratic Republic of Congo and Tanzania.
Group B consists of hosts Ethiopia, Burundi and Eritrea while Group C is made up of South Sudan, Djibouti and Kenya.
The tournament is expected to climax on 31st July.
