Ugandan winger joins Kenya’s Gor Mahia

Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia FC have completed the signing of Ugandan winger Peter Lwasa, Swift Sports has learnt.

Lwasa has been a free agent after leaving Kariobangi Sharks on mutual consent at the end of last month.

The former URA FC forward is currently training with Gor Mahia after completing his move.

Lwasa who primarily operates as a right winger scored six goals last season for Kariobangi Sharks.

Gor Mahia is Lwasa’s third club in Kenya having previously featured for Sofapaka in 2019 before he joined Kariobangi Sharks in 2020.

He now becomes the second Ugandan player at club after left back Fred Nkata Junior.

Gor Mahia also have former Vipers SC and KCCA FC striker Tito Okello who now plays for the South Sudan national team.

The 19-time Kenyan champions finished 8th on the KPL table last season but won the Shield Cup after beating rivals AFC Leopards on penalties in the final.

Gor Mahia will play against league champions Tusker FC in a Super Cup encounter on Wednesday 22nd September at the Thika Stadium.

The K’Oghalo will also face Sudan’s Al Ahly Merawi in the second round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
