Ugandan defender signs for Musongati FC

Burundian side Musongati Football Club have confirmed the signing of Ugandan defender Joseph Othieno.

Othieno signed an employment contract of two years crossing from relegated Lydia Ludic B Academique.

The club confirmed the signing of Othieno via their official social media platforms.

“We have signed Stephen Othieno on a two year deal. He can comfortably play very many positions qccross the defence and also the midfielder”.

Musongati is owned by the newly elected president of Burundi Evariste Ndyayishimiye and they are the reigning champions of the Burundi’s Presidents Cup.

He has previously played for SC Victoria University (now defunct), UPDF FC, and Nyamityobora FC.

Musongati FC finished the 2019-20 season second with 56 points from 30 games behind champions Le Messenger FC Ngozi with 60 points

Based in Gitega City they host their home games from Stade Ingoma Stadium.
