Crested Cranes head coach Farida Bulega has promised an attacking approach in Uganda’s return leg match against Ethiopia slated for Saturday at Lugogo.
Bulega’s charges are tasked with overturning a 3-2 deficit over Ethiopia’s Lucy in the 2020 Olympics Qualifiers game.
” We promise to attack our opponents from the word go. We shall play offensive but with a reserved task of striking balance between attacking and defending.”
” Despite missing a penalty, we are glad that our players managed to get two vital goals away from home because we had opted for a defensive approach.”
Striker Sandra Nabweteme failed to convert from the penalty mark before Uganda found two late consolations from Hasifa Nassuna’s strikes to cut the 3-0 deficit.
Bulega emphasizes the need to curb defensive lapses that saw her team concede three goals in Addis Ababa.
” We are going to iron out a few mistakes especially in the defensive department. We were made to pay for the lapses in concentration.”
The aggregate winner of this tie will face continental heavyweights Cameroon who already received a bye in the next round.
