Uganda seal CECAFA U-17 championship

Uganda U17 Girls team edged Kenya 2-0 to clinch the inaugural CECAFA U-17 Women Championship at FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.

First half goals from Fauzia Najjemba and Juliet Nalukenge fired the hosts to victory on Tuesday 17th December.

Uganda who were on 10 points, only needed a point to seal to top spot and finish the event as the undisputed champions.

In the other game of the day, Tanzania who finished as runners up in the competition shred Djibouti 10-0, a result that saw them move to 11 points.

During the tournament, Ayub Khalifa used the same side that won the 2019 COSAFA U17 Women Championship in Mauritius in September.

Uganda finished top of the log with 12 points, followed by Tanzania with 10 points and Kenya was third in event.
