The new Azam premier league season will kickoff tomorrow on 12th, 2017, new sets of rules are to be implemented ahead of the new football season.
All balls to be played on match days will have to be of the same type on every Stadium, to implement this over 30 balls have been given to each of the 16 clubs in the league. In case a club uses a different ball type of the match day ball, they will be penalized.
Every team that will miss games during the league will be relegated to the third tier or regional league not the big league as it has been over the past seasons.
Each player or captain called for an interview and does not appear will be punished and every coach has to be dressed in a decent way during press conferences.
During the new season every club Jersey must have names of players at the back and the Azam logo has to appear on the right sleeve of every Jersey.
Clubs with ball boys who hide balls shall be punished once they are found guilty, the old laws shall stand with the new ones to be implemented as early as possible.
UPL C.E.O Benard Bainamani also affirmed to the new rules and regulations to be followed ahead of the new season,
“A lot of issues happened during last season and so we have implemented new laws ahead of the new season to improve on the league standards. The new laws were proposed and as always laws have been there, but in for a while the old sets of law shall be used as we await for the new ones.”
On the fans discipline,
“Last season there was an improvement in the fans discipline, but we shall continue monitoring the fans discipline to avoid incidents where games are stopped, conflicts that lead to tear gas explosions during match day games.”
