Uganda drawn with higher ranked Nations for the FIBA World Cup 2019

With China claiming an automatic spot as hosts of the FIBA World Cup 2019, the rest of nations will have to go through the qualification process in accordance to their continental arrangements.

In Africa the qualification will comprise of the 16 Nations that participated at the FIBA Afrobasket 2017 in Senegal and Tunisia.

Uganda placed in group B with Nigeria, Mali and Rwanda where they will all play in a home and away format. Uganda will play their first fixture home against Nigeria on 23rd of Feb 2018.

The silverbacks are the least ranked in the group where Nigeria is 26th, Mali-73rd, Rwanda-87th and Uganda placed 94th as the Nike FIBA rankings stand.
