Sports Club Villa and Mbarara City became the first clubs to book berths in the round of 32 of the 2018-19 Stanbic Uganda Cup edition.
The Premier League outfits had to overcome Lugazi Municipal Council and Maroons football club respectively.
SC Villa walked over Buganda regional side Lugazi Municipal Council with a 4-1 victory at Mandela National Stadium Namboole.
Bashir Mutanda, David Owori, Ashiraf Mandela and Joseph Semujju were all on target for the Douglas Bamweyana coached men while Stephen Okot pulled one back for the visiting team.
At Kakyeka stadium, Mbarara City edged fellow premier league outfit Maroons FC 4-3 on penalties following a goalless draw in the ninety minutes.
The would be third game of the day between Water FC and Lira’s Saviours FC wasn’t played at Wankulukuku since the latter didn’t turn up.
The tournament will resume on Sunday 23rd with twenty-two fixtures across the country.
