UGANDA CUP : Mbarara City, Bright Stars out to seal round of 16 slots

Uganda Premier League sides Mbarara City and Bright Stars headline the Stanbic Uganda Cup games to be played on the Valentine’s day.

Bright Stars will host Buganda Regional League side Free Stars FC at Kavumba recreation center in one of the three games on the cards.

The 2019 losing finalists fought tooth and nail to overcome Koboko Raising Stars 1-0 in the previous round.

Mbarara City face FHL FC (Faith Hope & Love) of Moyo at Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara in the other game.

The Ankole Lions who are now under coach Brian Senyondo, have never gone beyond the round of 32 of this competition.

Dove FC host fellow Big League strugglers Water FC at The Katusabe grounds in Masindi in what will be the first match for their new coach Robert Ssekweyama.

Ssekweyama was unveiled last month on the same day Dove FC thumped New Villa 5-0 to record the biggest win of the previous round.

The eventual winners of the three games will join Tooro United, Maroons, URA, Wakiso Giants, UPDF FC defending champions Proline who have already booked berths in the round of 16.
